The spirit of cooperation can go a long way... Welcome. My name is Rick McMullen, the owner of Positive Images; a design and branding company in Bear River Nova Scotia. A couple of years ago, I had a conversation with a small business owner in Bridgetown. He expressed how frustrating it was that the only postcards he could get depicting scenes in Nova Scotia were of the areas that everyone already knows, always get most of the attention and were out of our area. He planted a seed that kept itching at me. Earlier this year, I started developing a plan to not just find a way to offer images of our side of the province; the Fundy Shore, but also how to promote it as a marketing campaign that didn't require a large investment for you, our frontline with visitors to our province. In March, I advertised a photo contest and discovered an amazing amount of both talent and luck in some of the amateur photographers who live right in our community. Twenty of these images were selected as a first run of postcards covering the 240 kms from Yarmouth to Wolfville. Every time one of these images sells, the credited photographer receives a commission. I've looked over some of the other postcard offerings and most of the images were purchased from US stock agencies. They have some very nice images, but I think it's important to try and keep as much money and credit right in our own backyard. A glance over the postcards being offered here speaks for itself - There's certainly no lack of talent in Nova Scotia. The backs of the postcards cover the marketing component. Turning one of the South West Nova Scotia postcards over, you find a description of the image, or the area it's representative of and a map of the province with colour coded 'pins' identifying exactly where the image was taken. Because more travellers are making use of GPS technology, you'll also find the coordinates. As these cards are being sold within the 240 km extent that the images themselves cover, it means that businesses in Yarmouth are not only promoting their own area, but also Wolfville and the whole range in between. Of course this also works the other way; Wolfville is not only selling themselves, but also all areas right down to Yarmouth. Everyone benefits. It's all about keeping visitors on the Fundy coast. Tourism experts suggest 'Add On Sales' to help get through our current economy. Ok. So what's it cost? Packages are outlined below...

Due to the additional time involved in sorting, please add 5% to your package price (Minimums of each apply- offer valid on 'Great' & 'Best' only). The price is outstandingly economical for you with a very good profit margin. I've also negotiated top notch quality for the printing. The cards are full colour front and back on 12pt stock. The fronts are gloss UV coated and the back is quite legible and still discrete enough to write over. I am going to be making the rounds and visiting as many businesses as I can, but it may take me a while to get to you. There are a fair number of proprietors between Yarmouth and Wolfville. Regardless of how you'd like to order, we will call you to verify your order before anything is finalized. If needed, a 20 pocket counter top spinner is available for $89. That price is just over my costs. Please let me know if you know where I can get them for less, as they're being offered for convenience, not profit. On the order form and brochure, you'll see pricing for 5 x 7 archival matted and sleeved prints. Unfortunately, the internet does not do them justice; they need to be seen so I'll have them with me when I visit your business.
